The Story Behind the Piece
Bring royal Rajasthani grandeur into your living space with this authentic 10-inch Jaipur Blue Pottery wall plate. Crafted by master craftsman Ramswaroop Prajapat and his guild in Kot Jewar, this plate does not use conventional clay. Instead, it utilizes an Egyptian-origin recipe introduced to Jaipur in the 19th century by Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II—combining quartz stone powder, powdered glass, Fuller's earth (multani mitti), and gum arabic. Each floral swirl is hand-drawn using natural cobalt oxide and copper sulphate pigments before being fired in a wood-fired kiln at gentle heat. Includes a concealed brass hanging hook on the reverse side.
Key Highlights:
- 100% GI-tagged authentic Jaipur craft
- Lead-free, non-toxic traditional quartz composition
